Description	:	Kathyrn "Kathy" Kay (Kamaus) Schott was born on November 9, 1945, to Millard "Bud" and Erma (Friederich) Kamaus in West Union, Iowa. She was baptized on April 14, 1946 and confirmed on September 27, 1959 at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in West Union, Iowa. She attended country school at Dover #6 near West Union and graduated from North High in 1964. She was united in marriage on November 8, 1964, to Garry Schott at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in West Union. Three children were born to this union. Read More	Kathyrn "Kathy" Kay (Kamaus) Schott was born on November 9, 1945, to Millard "Bud" and Erma (Friederich) Kamaus in West Union, Iowa. She was baptized on April 14, 1946 and confirmed on September 27, 1959 at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in West Union, Iowa. She attended country school at Dover #6 near West Union and graduated from North High in 1964. She was united in marriage on November 8, 1964, to Garry Schott at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in West Union. Three children were born to this union. They began married life in Sumner before moving to Garry's family farm near Clermont. During that time Kathy worked several jobs including Robinson's Dime Store and Traeger's Jack & Jill. In 1980 they moved to West Union where Kathy went to work for Heying Enterprise and later Heying Foods. Her latest job was at Garvin's Hardware in West Union, where she worked until retirement in 1995, due to health complications. Kathy was a life long member of area churches including St. Olaf Lutheran Church, West Clermont Lutheran Church and most recently St. Peter Lutheran Church in Eldorado. Kathy passed away Monday, February 18, 2013 at the age of 67 at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo after a sudden illness. Kathy was a big Atlanta Braves fan. She enjoyed cross-stitching and reading. Kathy also collected anything that was her favorite color, purple. Kathy also had an extensive collection of cardinals. The Statler Brothers and Randy Travis along with Elvis Presley were among her favorite musicians to listen to. She is survived by her loving family, including her children; Troy (Judy) Schott of West Union, Todd (Sophie Phillips) Schott of Waverly, and Aimee (Troy) Abrahamson of West Union. Her siblings, David (Jean) Kamaus, Don (Marilyn) Kamaus all of West Union, and Barb (Henry) Miller of Fayette. Grandchildren, Stacie (Al Seamans) Schroeder, Corey Schroeder, Amy (Germaine) Liburd, Josh (Ashley Kuennen) Schroeder, Ben (Angie Watters) Schroeder, Sarah (Ryan) Rose, Courtney (Jaime Hageman) Schott, Tyler (Kinsli) Schott, Payton Schott, Brock Lyman, Abbie Lyman, Elreich Abrahamson, Warren Abrahamson, and Wyatt Abrahamson; great-grandchildren; Kieran Harrington, Brian Schroeder, Claire Schroeder, Aiden Liburd, Gerniah Liburd, Bryce Schroeder, Addyson Schroeder, Aubry Schroeder, Blake Rose, Macy Rose, Maddox Rose, and Emmi Hageman; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Kathy was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Curt Kamaus. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, February 25, 2013, at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Eldorado, Iowa with the Rev. Ginny Olson officiating. Burial will follow in West Union Cemetery. A public visitation will be held on Sunday, February 24, 2013, at Burnham-Wood Funeral home in West Union from 4 PM until 8 PM. Burnham-Wood & S.K.
