Read More	September 8, 2012 MARSHALLTOWN—Kathryn Louise Rush, 82, died at Villa del Sol in Marshalltown, on Sunday, September 2, 2012, with her family and friends by her side. Memorial services will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Marshalltown, on Saturday, September 8, at 1:00 p.m. There will be a reception at the Fishers Community Center, Marshalltown, at 1:45 p.m. Kathryn was born on December 27, 1929, to Samuel and Francis Lawson in rural Buckeye, where she grew up on the family farm. She graduated from the Radcliffe High School and taught in a country school until she married Larry Laverle Rush on May 15, 1949. They moved to Iowa Falls and she continued teaching until expecting their first child. Kathryn will be remembered for her sweet personality, her kindness to everyone and her love of life evidenced by her beautiful smile and her laughter. Her courage and strength, and her optimistic spirit during her long illness were a source of encouragement for all who knew her. She enjoyed working in her flower garden, sewing, cooking and baking for her family and friends. She delighted in having her children and grandchildren around her as much as possible. She was a member of the Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses in Marshalltown. Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Larry; her children, Joseph (Lynne) Rush from Victor and David (Victoria) Rush from Ankeny; six grandchildren, Jason and Tabitha Rush (Ethan and Aiden) from Davenport, Ryan and Amber Rush (Devin and Coltin) from Boone, Melissa (Rush) and Anthony Commisso (Dominic, Nicolas and Ava) from Rockton, Illinois, Kala (Rush) and Job Yamen (Zane and Holden) from Des Moines, Samantha Rush from Port St. Lucie, Florida and Joseph Rush from Riverside, Florida; her sister, Dorothy Schwebke of Eldora; and her brother, Raymond Lawson from Webster City.
