Description	:	Kathryn Lucille Nelson, 91, of Morning Sun, formerly of Bonaparte, died at 11:35 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, 2012, at Morning Sun Care Center. Born Jan. 12, 1921, in Jefferson Township, Henry County, she was the daughter of Ralph and Grace McCoy Mosier. On March 27, 1940, she married Francis "Nate" Nelson in Kahoka, Mo. He died in 1984. Read More	Kathryn Lucille Nelson, 91, of Morning Sun, formerly of Bonaparte, died at 11:35 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, 2012, at Morning Sun Care Center. Born Jan. 12, 1921, in Jefferson Township, Henry County, she was the daughter of Ralph and Grace McCoy Mosier. On March 27, 1940, she married Francis "Nate" Nelson in Kahoka, Mo. He died in 1984. Mrs. Nelson worked in the hot lunch program at Bonaparte School and the glove factory in Bonaparte. In 1953, she and her husband bought the Phillips 66 gas station in Bonaparte and operated it for the next 20 years. She also drove a school bus for Harmony School and sold Avon in the Bonaparte area. She attended Maple Grove country school in rural Henry County. In 1934, she and her family moved to Van Buren County, where she spent the next 70 years. She moved to Morning Sun in 2004. She served in the city government and was a member of American Legion Auxiliary, Community Church and Bonaparte Development group. She enjoyed bowling on the state central team, bird watching, embroidering, cooking and keeping abreast of happenings in Bonaparte. Her greatest joy was caring for her family. Survivors include one son, Robert Nelson of Morning Sun; two grandchildren; one sister, Janette House of Burlington; one brother, Kenneth Mosier of Grand Mound; nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by two infant sons, one grandchild, her parents, two brothers and one sister. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Schmitz-Lynk Funeral Home in Farmington, where family will receive friends. The funeral for Mrs. Nelson will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Schmitz-Lynk Funeral Home, with the Rev. Richard Eis officiating. Burial will be in Bonaparte Cemetery. A memorial has been established for Bonaparte Cemetery.
