Description	:	Kathryn Lydia Sessler, age 98, of Cedar Falls, Iowa, formerly of Aplington, Iowa, was born the daughter of Harm and Lena (Muller) Ludemann on October 17, 1915, in rural Butler County near Kesley, Iowa. She received her education in Kesley and Aplington Schools and graduated in 1933. Kathyrn was known for her skill in declamatory contests, drama, and glee club during her school years. On January 21, 1945, she was united in marriage with Henry Thomas Sessler at her parents' home. They lived and farmed there until Henry died on July 12, 1991. Read More	Kathryn Lydia Sessler, age 98, of Cedar Falls, Iowa, formerly of Aplington, Iowa, was born the daughter of Harm and Lena (Muller) Ludemann on October 17, 1915, in rural Butler County near Kesley, Iowa. She received her education in Kesley and Aplington Schools and graduated in 1933. Kathyrn was known for her skill in declamatory contests, drama, and glee club during her school years. On January 21, 1945, she was united in marriage with Henry Thomas Sessler at her parents' home. They lived and farmed there until Henry died on July 12, 1991. Kathryn moved to Aplington in 1992, after 77 years on the family farm. Kathryn was a member of the Kesley Presbyterian Church where she taught Primary Sunday School classes and played the piano for church services for 14 years. In 1963, the family transferred to Bethel Reformed Church, rural Aplington. She attended the Aplington Baptist Church after moving to town. Kathryn loved to garden and work outdoors, being with the livestock and nature, but her greatest joy was spending time with her family. She could whistle like a bird and continued to play her piano until the past year. Kathryn died Sunday, May 18, 2014, at Bickford Senior Living in Cedar Falls of natural causes. She is preceded in death by her husband, Henry Sessler; one son, Larry Sessler in 1977; her parents; and three sisters and their husbands, Nella (Haley) Lang, Tannis (Delbert) Welty, and Ruth (Floyd) Fleming; two nieces and two nephews. Kathryn is survived by one son, Allen (Donna) Sessler of Waterloo; a niece, Audrey Rood of Sharon, MA; and a nephew, Steven Sessler of Parkersburg; and several great and great-great nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday at Bethel Reformed Church with burial at Bethel Reformed Cemetery both rural Aplington. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the Redman-Schwartz Chapel in Aplington, (319)347-6275
