Description	:	Kathryn was born to George and Mary McNamara. She attended the College of Saint Mary in Omaha, NE for two years to obtain a teaching degree. She later completed a bachelor's degree in education at the U. of Nebraska in 1942. In December of 1942, she married Vernon Von Seggern of Uehling NE. After the death of her husband Vernon in December 1944 , killed in action, in WWII France, she continued teaching at Wisner, NE public school. In 1954 she and her son moved to Omaha, and joined the Omaha... Read More	Kathryn was born to George and Mary McNamara. She attended the College of Saint Mary in Omaha, NE for two years to obtain a teaching degree. She later completed a bachelor's degree in education at the U. of Nebraska in 1942. In December of 1942, she married Vernon Von Seggern of Uehling NE. After the death of her husband Vernon in December 1944 , killed in action, in WWII France, she continued teaching at Wisner, NE public school. In 1954 she and her son moved to Omaha, and joined the Omaha Public School system and taught until 1959 when she took a position with the Omaha Library system. After retiring, she volunteered in Children's Hospital for 15 years. She belonged to the Reserve Officer's Auxiliary League for many years, holding several offices including president of the Nebraska Chapter. Even in the last years of her life, she continued to lay flowers on soldiers graves on Memorial Day military services. In her retirement she modestly served as aide to many friends who have preceded her. Having lived on N. 59th Street for 53 pleasant years, she moved at the age of 96 to an assistant living home. Gentleman says she will be interned at the Wisner Cemetery next to her sister Patricia (2012) and her brother James (1984). James is interned at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Wisner, not the Wisner Cemetery.
