Kathy J. Himmerich was born August 2, 1946, to Arthur and Lydia (Oster) Himmerich in Mobridge, SD. The family lived on a farm near Eureka, SD until 1955, when they moved to Aberdeen. She attended Roosevelt and Monroe Jr High before graduating from Aberdeen Central High School in 1964. Kathy's first job was working for a telephone company. Later she was employed at Kessler's Deli and then 3M. She was one of the first hired and was employed there for thirty-two years. In 2007, Kathy retired and began working at Grande Casino and was employed there for the next 10 years. Kathy married Larry Kienow and from that union three boys were born: Chad, Jeff, and Jason. Together the family enjoyed camping and fishing at the river in the boat. She enjoyed playing bingo and traveling with her sisters, especially Lois. She was a tough, selfless lady. She was very self-sufficient and was a good friend to everyone. Grateful for having shared Kathy's life are children Jeff Kienow and Jason Kienow; and siblings: Mavis Goldade, Sharon (Ron) Conn, Lois Hettich, Dorothy (Ernie) Johnson, Butch (Nancy) Himmerich, Sheila LaTosh, and Denise (Randy) Rausch. Preceding Kathy in death are her parents, Art and Lydia Himmerich; son, Chad Kienow; and siblings: Audrey Huber, Linda Austin, and Clyde Himmerich. - Spitzer-Miller Funeral Home
