Her memorial service will be 1:00 PM Monday afternoon, December 27, 2021, in the Chapel of Dial-Murray Funeral Home, Moncks Corner. Mrs. Schurlknight was born April 18, 1952, in Lake City, SC, a daughter of William Henry McElveen and Birtie Lucille Thornhill McElveen. She enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, cooking, and collecting antiques, but most of all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Mrs. Schurlknight was also a former librarian at the St. Stephen Library and was the former co-owner and operator of the Arrowhead Motel & Campground. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Clara Mae McElveen, Betty Grimsley, and Reba McElveen, and two brothers, R.L. McElveen and W.D. McElveen. Mrs. Schurlknight was the widow of Bobby E. Schurlknight. Surviving are a daughter, Charlene P. Little and her husband, Chad, of Alvin; a son, Jack R. "Richie" Douglas of Alvin; a sister, Faye Williamson of Cross; two brothers, Ronnie McElveen of St. Stephen and Bill Grimsley of Alvin; and two grandchildren, Madison and Easton Little.
