Born August 26, 1942 in Grand Ridge, Florida, Katie was the daughter of the late Norwood and Clicy Oliver. She was a graduate of Grand Ridge High School and after graduation, worked at Florida State Hospital in Chattahoochee, Florida for five years; Apalachee Valley Nursing Center in Blountstown for five years; and River Chase Care Center in Quincy for sixteen years and retired after thirty-four years in the Medical Records Department in 2004. Born August 26, 1942 in Grand Ridge, Florida, Katie was the daughter of the late Norwood and Clicy Oliver. She was a graduate of Grand Ridge High School and after graduation, worked at Florida State Hospital in Chattahoochee, Florida for five years; Apalachee Valley Nursing Center in Blountstown for five years; and River Chase Care Center in Quincy for sixteen years and retired after thirty-four years in the Medical Records Department in 2004. She also drove the school bus for Calhoun County schools for nine years. Other than her parents, Norwood and Clicy Oliver, she was preceded in death by her husband of forty-six years, David Franklin Owens; a sister, Opal Holley; and a brother-in-law, Ben Owens. Survivors include one son, Dewayne Owens and his wife, Cathy; six grandchildren, Colby, Abigail, and Paige Owens, Montana and Jake Harris, all of Bristol, and Andrea Johnson of Grand Ridge; one sister, Shirley Whitehead and husband, Joe of Crawfordville; brothers and sisters-in-law, Billie and Margie Johnson of Chattahoochee and Wayne and Janet Owens of Grand Ridge; sister-in-law, Barbara Owens of Blountstown; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends 5:00-7:00 p.m. ET, Sunday, May 17 at Adams Funeral Home in Blountstown. Services will be held at 11:00 ET, Monday, May 18 at Bethel Assembly of God Church in Greensboro, Florida with Reverend Heath Barfoot officiating.
