Comstock taken from The Meriden Morning Record, Meriden, Conn., Tues., June 15, 1915, page 6; Thurs, June 17, 1915, page 8 ________________ Her late husband, John Walter Mix, died in a tragic accident late Saturday night, October 11, 1902, when he was hit by a train (Bar Harbor Express) at the Quinnipiac Street crossing in Wallingford following a visit with friends. He was planning to take an electric car back to his home in Meriden when he mistook the train for his ride and walked off the platform to meet his ride, but instead was hit by the train. He was a former State Senator, a member of the Republican State Central Committee and Customs Collector for the port of New Haven.
