Quick comsumption caused her death Friday morning, March 10, at the age of 16 years, 9 months and 19 days. Her mother, who died when Katie was only 11 days old, and a sister, preceded her to the spirit world. Quick comsumption caused her death Friday morning, March 10, at the age of 16 years, 9 months and 19 days. Her mother, who died when Katie was only 11 days old, and a sister, preceded her to the spirit world. She realized for some time that her life here was soon to end, but she was prepared to meet her Saviour face to face. Peaceably she fell "Asleep in Jesus." Her goodness and grace of character made her beloved by all who knew her, and especially in the home she is sorely missed. She was a member of the Presbyterian church at Lebanon, and a faithful worker in its Sunday school. The funeral services were held from the home Sunday morning, Rev. N. P. Olney officiating. Six young women of the church acted as pall bearers. The remains were laid at rest in the Valentine cemetery.
