Kavin Michael Kroshus was born Dec. 7, 1951, in Des Moines. He was adopted Feb. 8, 1952, by Jerome and Kathryn (Arneson) Kroshus. He graduated from Decorah High School in 1970, and attended North Iowa Area Community College in Mason City. On Sept. 17, 1983, he was united in marriage to Arlene H. Laughead at Big Canoe Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Steve Jensen officiating. He had been employed at United Concrete in Waterloo for the last 23 years as operations supervisor, and was a member of Big Canoe Lutheran Church. Survivors include his parents, Jerome and Kathryn Kroshus of Decorah; wife Arlene; three step-sons, Rick Dolleslager and wife Ranae of La Porte City, Iowa; Steve Dolleslager of Davenport, Iowa; and Kirk Dolleslager of Grundy Center, Iowa; one sister, Wanda Winger and husband Stephen of Peoria, Illinois; and three step-grandchildren, McKaila Dolleslager, Devin Dolleslager and Austin Dolleslager. Kavin Kroshus was preceded in death by his grandparents, Nora and Martin Arneson and Genevieve and Albert Kroshus; and by four brothers and sisters in infancy, Jerome, Joseph, Donna and Diane.
