Kay was born on Sept. 22, 1941, near Mapleton, Iowa to William "Bill" Harold and Doris Alta (Kendall) Gregerson. Kay grew up in the Mapleton area where she attended school and graduated from Mapleton High School in 1959. Kay worked several jobs throughout her life, including being the manager and cook at the Feedbunk Cafe in Moorhead, Iowa, a cashier at Ampride in Denison, as well as working as a cashier and garden center employee at Walmart in Denison, Iowa. Kay and Bert L. Hanson were united in marriage on June 19, 1993, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Ute. She enjoyed traveling with Bert. Kay also enjoyed caring for outdoor plants, cooking, entertaining and family gatherings. She loved raising her daughters, spending time with family and attending grandchildren's events. Kay was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Ute. Survivors include her husband, Bert L. Hanson; daughter, Sara (Neddermeyer) Cline and her husband, Rick; daughter, Rita (Neddermeyer) Brodersen and her husband, Craig; two step-sons, Lynn Hanson of and Charlie Hanson; five grandchildren, Tyler Corbitt, Breanna Corbitt, Kendall Corbitt, Justin Ferraro and Molly Cline; one great-grandson, Corbin Rosburg; five step-grandchildren, Curt (Lori) Hanson, Tara (Greg) Wagner, Cody Hanson, Travis (Emily) Hanson, and Kaye Lanie (Ryan) Colling; eleven step-great-grandchildren, Maddi Hanson, Gracie Hanson, Ella Hanson, Ben Hanson, Alyssa Wagner, Emma Wagner, Isaac Wagner, Lilly Hanson, Gunnar Colling, Emmet Hanson, and Olivia Hanson; one step-great-great-grandson, Elijah Robinson; two sisters, Mary McDonnell and Ruth Hesse; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Kay was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Doyle Gregerson, Lois Gregerson, Catherine Ripley and Howard Gregerson.
