She was born on February 18, 1934 to Harry Klondike Hayes and Rudy Owens Hayes. She lived her entire life in the Kittitas Valley. Kay married Donald Charles McPherson on December 9, 1950. Read More	Kay Virginia (Hayes) McPherson, 62, died Friday, February 1, 1997 after a courageous battle against cancer. She was born on February 18, 1934 to Harry Klondike Hayes and Rudy Owens Hayes. She lived her entire life in the Kittitas Valley. Kay married Donald Charles McPherson on December 9, 1950. Among her many enjoyments and hobbies were gardening, bird watching, camping, fishing, cooking, tennis and bowling. Kay took great pride in her home and family. She was a devoted "Nana," showering each of her grandchildren with love. Kay was an active member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church and enjoyed participating in church fundraisers. Kay worked at Vails Market before working many years at the Valley Clinic. She loved her job and in turn was loved by staff and patients. Her surviving family includes her husband, Donald C. McPherson; sons, Dale and his wife Teresa McPherson and Chris and his wife Thim McPherson, both of Ellensburg; daughter, Karen and her husband Garth Dano of Moses Lake; grandchildren, Nicole Dano, Garrett Dano, Kellen Dano, Kyle McPherson, Justin McPherson and Samantha McPherson; step-grandchildren, Adam Schneider, Crystal McPherson and Sabrina Guzman; brothers, Bill (Merle) Hayes of Prosser, Jerry (Mary) Hayes of Yakima, Joel (Alberta) Hayes and Home Hayes of Oak Harbor; sisters, Barbara (Domonic) Scenna of Oak Park, Michigan and Sandra Johnson of Ellensburg; and many nieces and nephews. Kay was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Shirley Vick and Juanita Dusbabek and one grandson, Jarrod Dano. A vigil service will be held at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, February 4 at St. Andrew's Catholic Church. Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, February 5 at St. Andrew's Catholic Church, followed by a luncheon. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society of Washington, Memorial Program, c/o Jerry Bennett, 1011 E.
