She grew up in George, IA and graduated from George High School in 1978. Kaye moved to Sioux Falls, SD. After graduating from Stewart's School of Hairstyling, she worked as a hair stylist in the city for 16 years. Kaye was united in marriage with Thomas J. DeVaney on June 21, 2001 in Sioux Falls, SD. The couple made their home in Sioux Falls. Kaye was a fun-loving soul who loved all things purple. She liked fairies, pansies and antiques. It was her pleasure to spoil the family's two dogs, Bailey, a golden retriever and Truman, a Jack Russell terrier. Above all, she cherished her family, especially her children, and spending time with them. Grateful for having shared her life are her husband, Tom; two children, Tara Thoms and Tanner Thoms, Sioux Falls, SD; her mother and stepfather, Mary Jo and Jerry Goswick, George, IA; one brother, Paul Bruns and his wife, Nancy, West Branch, IA; her maternal grandmother, Maria Kramer, Sheldon, IA; four step-children, Kathryn, Rebecca, Andrew and Daniel DeVaney, Sioux Falls, SD; three nieces, Anna, Courtney and Lindsey Bruns, West Branch, IA; her mother-in-law, Jackie DeVaney, Sioux Falls, SD; her best friend, Deb Beres, Canton, SD; many aunts, uncles and cousins; and a host of other relatives and friends. Kaye was preceded in death by her father, Verlyn, on November 2, 1966; and her grandparents. INTERMENT~ Evergreen Lawn Cemetery, George, IA
