Description	:	Keith was discharged on demobilisation on 21 February 1946. He received the following medals: 1939-45 Star, Pacific Star, War Medal 1939-45, Australian Service Medal 1939-45 and a Returned From Active Service badge. After the war, Keith went to work for Keidges in Ipswich, where he learnt the trade of panel beating. Keith was educated at Blair State School as were his brothers and sister. After the war, Keith went to work for Keidges in Ipswich, where he learnt the trade of panel beating. Keith was educated at Blair State School as were his brothers and sister. Rugby played a bit part in his life, from the time he was at primary school. In 1937 his team won the "A" grade premiership. He also played for Queensland against New South Wales, in the schoolboys team. In 1940 Keith was enrolled at Ipswich Boy's Grammar. He left before completing his Junior year and went to work in his father's butcher shop at Woodend until he was 17 years of age. On 18 May 1942, Keith enlisted in the RAAF (Regimental No 1945) and was drafted into Air/Sea Rescue. From April to July 1943, he trained as a Fitter Meter Boat Crew at No 3 STT (School of Technical Training) and at Rathmines Marine School near Lake Macquarie in NSW, before serving in New Guinea, with the RAAF Marines, recovering torpedoes and delivering supplies to isolated spotting stations around the islands north of Australia. Keith was in Sydney on 31 May 1942, during the submarine attack by the Japanese. Keith continued to play rugby, for the Tivoli team in Ipswich, with his good mate, Des USMAR. In 1949 he moved to Roma where he opened a panel beating business, "Keith Hall Bodyworks," in Quinton Street. Whilst in Roma, he boarded with friends, then at the Hotel Roma (1949 elec roll), (87 Edward St 1954 elec roll) and later at the Fire Station. In return for board he kept the fire engines in running condition. Keith was a member of the Roma Lion's Club. In February 1975, Keith sold the business to his longtime friend and employee, Bill Hallett. Keith retired to the Gold Coast to a house he bought at Palm Beach. He remained unmarried and a legacy from his wartime service was deafness. Keith wore a hearing aid.
