Description	:	Keith Schulenberg was born to his loving parents Emil M. and Ruth Marie (Springer) Davis – Schulenberg on Monday June 24, 1946 at Fremont, Dodge County Nebraska. Keith had a brother and half-brother. I first knew Keith when his parents lived on a farm north northeast of Ames, Dodge County just south of the corner of County Road P Boulevard and Road 16. Read More	Keith Schulenberg was born to his loving parents Emil M. and Ruth Marie (Springer) Davis – Schulenberg on Monday June 24, 1946 at Fremont, Dodge County Nebraska. Keith had a brother and half-brother. I first knew Keith when his parents lived on a farm north northeast of Ames, Dodge County just south of the corner of County Road P Boulevard and Road 16. The farm was on the east side of Road 16 if my memory is correct with the GPS of this farm house being 41.515947, -96.614617, this would have been in the mid-fifties. The summer of 1956 we had a drought with many farm wells going dry. The farm well across the road from Keith's parents went dry. In the late fifties Keith's father did custom hay baling for my father. Keith's brother drove the John Deere 60 pulling a John Deere baler and hayrack behind. Keith came along many times. In the early sixties Keith's family moved to a farm near the Scribner, Dodge County air base. Keith attended church with his parents at St. Peters Lutheran at Scribner where my family also attended. Keith and I rode with Keith's brother Lambert in Lambert's white 59 Ford two door hardtop to Walther Leaguer Bowling at the Thirty Bowl at Fremont, Dodge County, that was before Keith and I had cars. Keith attended Scribner High and was a 1964 graduate. In his later high school years he drove a white Ford Falcon convertible muscle machine, the car was a compact with a big engine under the hood, it could scream down the road. After high school I sadly lost track of Keith when I went to serve in the Air Force. Keith attended Omaha Technical School at Omaha, Douglas County. On Monday October 25, 1965 Keith joined the Fremont National Guard. Keith was united in marriage to Janet Fichtl on Tuesday May 9, 1967 at the Presbyterian Church at Schuyler, Colfax County, the couple were blessed with one son over the years of their marriage. Keith received his National Guard discharge on Sunday October 24, 1971. Keith retired after 30 years from Tasty Toppings, where he was a truck driver and mechanic. In retirement Keith drove part time for Koch Excavating. Both of these companies were in Columbus, Platte County. Keith collected antique International tractors, he would enjoy competing in antique tractor pulls and giving rides on his antique tractors. Keith was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. I tried to contact Keith several years ago but received no reply. Sadly Keith passed at the Poudre Valley Hospital at Fort Collins, Larimer County Colorado on Wednesday December 23, 2020 at the age of 74 years, 5 months, 29 days, he lived a total of 27,211 days. A family-only memorial service was held at the Gass Haney Funeral Home of Columbus, they were in charge of his arrangements. Keith was interred in the Scribner Cemetery. Keith's information was provided from researching many resources and my memory. This biography was created as an honor to Keith by a childhood friend Loren R. I believe all lives matter, even the lives of those who have passed.
