He was born on January 29, 1924 in Farragut, IA; the son of Thomas Vance and Ester Fern (Hopkins) McMahon. He attended school and graduated from the Farragut High School with the class of 1942. He was united in marriage to June... Read More	Keith W. McMahon, age 88 of Farragut, IA passed away on Friday evening; August 31, 2012 at the Shenandoah Medical Center in Shenandoah, IA. He was born on January 29, 1924 in Farragut, IA; the son of Thomas Vance and Ester Fern (Hopkins) McMahon. He attended school and graduated from the Farragut High School with the class of 1942. Keith entered the U.S. Army on August 2, 1943 and served during World War II in the Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe. He was honorably discharged on March 18, 1946. He was united in marriage to June Darlene Holliman on March 28, 1947 in Marysville, KS. Keith worked for the Burlington Railroad as a bulk mail handler for some 20 years. He also worked at Weber Engineering hauling concrete, for the City of Farragut and at Farragut Ag Service. He was a member of the Sidney American Legion. His passion was attending auctions! He is survived by his wife Darlene of Farragut, IA; children: Michael K. McMahon and wife Martha of Riverton, IA, Russell L. McMahon of Klamath Falls, OR and Barbara K. Barnes and husband Brian of Grove, OK; five grandchildren: Shauna McMahon of Cleburne, TX, Cy McMahon and wife Jen of Ottumwa, IA, Kara Shipley of Oklahoma City, OK, Korby Shipley of Cleburne, TX and Ty Shipley of Grove, OK; two great-grandchildren: Isaac and Clara McMahon; a sister Katherine Wallingford of Villisca, IA; other family and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and six siblings: Vance, Marge, Mel, Don, Colleen and Darrell. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, Sept. 5 at 2:00 p.m. at the Riverton Cemetery, Riverton, IA. Rev. Cy McMahon will officiate at the services and inurnment will follow. Military services will be conducted by the Sidney, IA American Post. Memorials may be given to the Farragut Rescue in lieu of flowers.
