Description	:	LEXINGTON -- Kela I. Hinkle, 94, died Tuesday (May 1, 2007) at Plum Creek Care Center in Lexington. She was born July 26, 1912, near York, to Claude and Clara (VanVleet) Hager. She was a graduate of Trenton High School with the class of 1931, during high school she received her Normal Training for teaching and taught at two different rural schools at Trenton. Read More	LEXINGTON -- Kela I. Hinkle, 94, died Tuesday (May 1, 2007) at Plum Creek Care Center in Lexington. She was born July 26, 1912, near York, to Claude and Clara (VanVleet) Hager. She was a graduate of Trenton High School with the class of 1931, during high school she received her Normal Training for teaching and taught at two different rural schools at Trenton. She was united in marriage to Alf Hinkle on May 21, 1933, at McCook. She worked as a waitress, cook, worked in a dress shop, sold life insurance and managed a Dairy Queen. She was always an active partner in the farming operation and in 1948, went to Beauty School in McCook. She operated Kela's Beauty Shop in Arapahoe from 1960 to 1980. She then worked for Arapahoe Public Schools as a Green Thumb Worker. She moved to Lexington in 1987. Following her move to Lexington, she became a member of Parkview Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Alf in 1983; three brothers, Eldon, William and Lloyd and one great-grandson. Survivors include her three sons, Wilbur and wife Marie Hinkle of Medford, Ore., Gale Hinkle of Eugene, Ore., and Dale and wife, Lavonne Hinkle of Oconto; one brother, Delbert Hager of Denver, Colo.; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be Wednesday, 10:30 a.m. at Parkview Baptist Church in Lexington with the Rev. John Shields, officiating. Inurnment will be at the Greenwood Cemetery at Lexington. There will be no visitation, her body was cremated. Memorials are suggested to Parkview Baptist Church or the Nebraska Crippled Children's Association. Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington is in charge of arrangements.
