Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday at the United Methodist Church in Monroe, with the Rev. Bev Heib officiating. Burial is at Palestine Cemetery. She was a graduate of Monroe High School and also attended Central Community College-Columbus and Wayne State College. Kelly was a lifelong resident of the Monroe and Columbus communities. The love of her life was her son, Matthew. Her nephews and niece knew her as their “favorite aunt.” Kelly volunteered as the bus monitor for Head Start in Columbus and enjoyed spending time with her family. Survivors include one son, Matthew Ziegler of Aurora; her parents, Gary and Sharon Ziegler of Monroe; two brothers, Dan (Dixie) Ziegler of Aurora, and Michael Ziegler of Lincoln; one sister, Tracey (Tom) Bardsley of Beatrice; five nephews and one niece. Kelly was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ben and Marilyn Obrist, and D.H. and Mildred Ziegler. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
