Description	:	Kenneth Allen "Kenny" Goodmanson The Son of Ernest F. and Lucille Helen (Miller) Goodmanson was born March 26,1927 in Ireton, Iowa He graduated from high school in Ireton in 1944 and went on to attend Wayne, Ne. in 1944 Kenny enlisted in the US Navy and was stationed on the U.S.S. Puget Sound. His ship was present in Okinawa when the Japanese signed the surrender agreement at the close of World War II in 1945 On January 22, 1945 Kenny was united in marriage with Shirley Green in South Sioux City, NE. Read More	Kenneth Allen "Kenny" Goodmanson The Son of Ernest F. and Lucille Helen (Miller) Goodmanson was born March 26,1927 in Ireton, Iowa He graduated from high school in Ireton in 1944 and went on to attend Wayne, Ne. in 1944 Kenny enlisted in the US Navy and was stationed on the U.S.S. Puget Sound. His ship was present in Okinawa when the Japanese signed the surrender agreement at the close of World War II in 1945 On January 22, 1945 Kenny was united in marriage with Shirley Green in South Sioux City, NE. He was employed at the Post Office after the couple moved to Correctionville, Iowa in 1949. Kenny later was able to enter the Iron Workers Union which he remained a member for 45 years. He worked for many different contractors on many different jobs including the original wings of Sioux Valley Hospital now called (Sanford Hospital) the Sioux Falls treatment plant, and the rail road bridge spanning the river in Sioux City. Kenny was involved with many contracting projects throughout Iowa, Minnesota, and South Dakota He retired in 1989 Kenny was a hunter fisherman. He also enjoyed playing sports. including golf baseball. in fact, Kenny had played minor league baseball for the St. Louis Cardinals. He was an avid woodworker, and he and Shirley had a crafting business, where they traveled to various craft shows around the country. Grateful for having shared his life are his wife Shirley of Sioux Falls, SD 3 Daughters Gayle (john) Jacobs of Correctionville, Iowa Barbara Kramar of Gilbert, Minnesota Marcia Goodmanson of Sioux Falls, South Dakota 2 Sons Earl (Diane) Goodmanson of Portland, Oregon David (Jeanette) Goodmanson of Boynton Beach, Florida 9 grandchildren; 13 great-great grandchildren and 3 sisters Norma Jean Van Osbree of Grand Island, NE Glenda Asher of Spearfish, South Dakota Marylou (Reverend Bob) Baxter of Dothan, Alabama 1 Brother Larry (Kathy) Goodmanson of Canby, Minnesota and a host of other relatives and friends He was preceded in death by his parents a brother Lyle Goodmanson a Sister in-law Helen Goodmanson brother in-law John Van Osbree and Brother in-law Fred Asher and Son-in-law Tom Kramar
