Description	:	Kenneth A. Sims, 80, of Otterbein, died at 1:10 a.m. Friday, March 7, 2008, at Rosewalk Village in Lafayette. Born Jan. 21, 1928, in Butler County, Ohio, he was the son of the late Wiley and Elba Mae Kendall Sims. Sims, 80, of Otterbein, died at 1:10 a.m. Friday, March 7, 2008, at Rosewalk Village in Lafayette. Born Jan. 21, 1928, in Butler County, Ohio, he was the son of the late Wiley and Elba Mae Kendall Sims. He graduated from Montmorenci High School in 1946 and had lived in Otterbein for more than 70 years. He married Lois Jean Fleenor on Dec. 24, 1947, in Otterbein. Mr. Sims was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church; a member and past master of Otterbein Masonic Lodge No. 561; a member and past worthy patron of Otterbein Order of Eastern Star, Beulah Chapter 102; and served on the Pond Grove Cemetery Board. He enjoyed fishing, camping and attending his grandchildren's events. Mr. Sims farmed, drove a truck and worked at Purdue University as a maintenance engineer for 26 years. He retired in 1993. Surviving are his wife; daughters, Sharon Whybrew (husband: Jerry) of Monticello and Debra Glover (husband: Tom) of Otterbein; and son, Kenneth "Dave" Sims (wife: Gigi) of West Lafayette. Friends may call 4-7 p.m. Monday, March 10, 2008, with Eastern Star and Masonic services at 7 p.m. at the United Methodist Church, 23 S. Brown St., Otterbein. Funeral service 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 11, 2008, at the church, Pastor David Smitley officiating. Interment Pond Grove Cemetery, Otterbein. Surviving are grandchildren, Britton Sims (wife: Shanan), Brianne Carroll (husband: Ryan), Brooke Sims, Ryan Whybrew (wife: Jenna), Nathan Whybrew (wife: Sarah), Erin Ellis (husband: Will), Christian and Kegan Glover; great-grandsons: Kyle Clark, Lucas and Owen Sims. He was looking forward to his 4th great-grandson, Tucker Whybrew, due in July. Preceded in death by a son, Douglas W. Sims; 4 brothers and 2 sisters.
