Read More	FORT FAIRFIELD – Kenneth B. Banks, 97, husband of the late Cora Louise Banks, died Sunday evening, Oct. 2, 2005, at a Houlton healthcare facility, after a brief illness. He was born May 21, 1908, in Florenceville, N.B., Canada, the son of James W. and Alanda (Boyer) Banks. Kenneth graduated from the Florenceville N.B. school system and was married to Cora Louise Welch Feb. 20, 1929. He was a member of the St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Fort Fairfield, where he served as warden and senior warden. Kenneth had been employed for 48 years by both the Canadian Pacific and Bangor & Aroostook Railroads as a dispatcher and clerk and was a member of the Brotherhood of Railway Clerks. Mr. Banks was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed gardening up until the end of his life. Kenneth was fond of poetry, especially the works of Robert Service. In addition to his parents, Kenneth was predeceased by his wife, March 18, 1987; one brother, Freeman B. Banks; one sister, Laura Beatrice Godwin. He is survived by three great-nephews, James and Karl Banks, both of Florenceville, N.B., and Deane Catelle of Hartland, N.B.; great-nieces, Nancy Banks Brown of Florenceville, N.B., Pamela Tracy and her husband, Floyd, of Caribou, who loved Ken as a father. Kenneth will be fondly remembered by friend and care giver, Patricia Welch of Fort Fairfield and special friend, Torr Harmer of Easton, and Norma Banks of Florenceville, N.B. At Kenneth's request, there will be no calling hours. A funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2005, at the St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 166 Main St., Fort Fairfield, with the Rev. Susan Murphy officiating. Interment will follow at the Riverside Cemetery, Fort Fairfield. A time of fellowship will be held at the St. Paul's Episcopal Church immediately following the interment service. In lieu of flowers, those who choose may contribute in memory of Mr. Banks to the St. Paul's Memorial Fund, care of Gloria Towle, P.O. Box 737, Fort Fairfield, ME 04742. Envelopes will be available at the church. Arrangements are in the care of the Dorsey Funeral Home, Fort Fairfield.
