Read More	Kenneth Calvin DeWeese July 22, 1925 – July 6, 2011 Ken passed on July 6, 2011 of a rare neurological disorder. He was 85 years young at the time. Ken was born on July 22, 1925 to Louis H. and Eda (Hayes) DeWeese. He grew up in Collbran, CO, graduated from Collbran Union High School and then entered the U. S. Navy and later the Navy Air Corp. He served his country proudly during World War II and the Korean War. He married Audrey Caroline Hunt on June 1, 1947 in Iowa City, IA. They began married life in Salt Lake City, UT, and later moved to Grand Junction where they lived for 55 years. Ken was co-owner of Radio & Electronics Supply, a wholesale distribution company, and later purchased Pinyon Office Center. He served as Scout Master of Boy Scout Troop 356, Elder in the First Presbyterian Church, President of the antique car club VMCCA, and Carnival Chairman of Lions Club in which he was a lifetime member. After moving to Monument, CO in 2003, he joined the Monument Community Presbyterian Church. Ken's hobbies included flying his airplane, collecting and restoring antique cars, fly fishing, woodworking, bird carving, and camping in America's national parks. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Audrey DeWeese; sons, Steven (Kathy) DeWeese, of Denver, and Scott (Kathy) DeWeese, of Denver; daughters, Sharon (Rick) Taylor-DeWeese, of Colorado Springs, and Susan (Ron) Carnahan, of Monument; grandchildren, Dr. Loren Rees and family, of Boston, MA; Leah Rees and family, of Colorado Springs; Chanda Rees Fryer and family, of San Antonio, TX; Jessica Carnahan Reeb and family, of Omaha, NE; Joshua Carnahan and family, of Monument, CO; Tyler DeWeese and family, of Denver; Dr. Nicholas DeWeese and family, of Denver; nine great-grandchildren; also a brother and sister in Grand Junction, Quinton DeWeese and Dorothy LaCount; and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held July 30, at 11:00 a.m. at Monument Community Presbyterian Church, reception following. A memorial graveside service will be held in Grand Junction on August 13, at 11:00 a.m. at Memorial Gardens. Memorial gifts may be sent to a medical research foundation of your choice.
