Kenneth D Patterson was the son of Russell Loveall and Rose Schultz Patterson. He was raised in Mingo and attended Mingo and Colfax schools. In June of 1944 he enlisted in the US Army Air Corp and was stationed in Germany following World War II. During that time he worked on P-47 Thunderbolt fighters airplanes. He was married to Evelyn Scarbough on February 13, 1949 in Kellogg, Iowa. They lived in Germany and became the parents of three children, Mike, Roy and Gail. Kenneth served his country during the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. They made their home at various military bases throughout the United States until his discharge in 1969. They moved to Spokane, Washington where he worked for the Comet Corporation and later the Sprague Pest Control Company. They moved to Grinnell in 2000. Kenneth was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Grinnell, the American Legion and the Air Force Sergeants Association. He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting and traveling.
