Ken was born in 1924 to John and Elizabeth Wambold in Lincoln, NE. His was educated in Nebraska. His early life was dedicated to farming with his family. He was always involved in "the harvest", an annual event that occurred throughout the midwest at the end of a growing season. The harvest was a migration; as crops came in, the labor force moved from location to location to take part. When he journeyed to North Dakota for the annual corn and wheat harvests he met Norma Bonderud of Carrington, ND. They eventually married. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Following the war he left the midwest and traveled west in search of a new career, eventually settling in Santa Rosa. The post war 50's featured a building boom in many parts of America, including Santa Rosa. He arrived in Santa Rosa in 1950 and continued to build his family. He developed a rewarding career in the drywall business and was well respected for his knowledge and work in the drywall trade. His expertise, love of the art and proven character in the profession earned him great respect within the Sonoma County construction community. He lost his wife Norma in 1982 and shortly thereafter returned to Nebraska and eventually remarried. He is survived by his wife Meryl and her children, by his sons, Robert and William; and his daughters Catherine and Colly. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, bowling and gaming in Reno, Nevada; following the horse races was also a favorite recreational activity. He attributed success in life to working hard and playing less. He was warm at heart and always willing to help others. Ken's family will miss him. We thank Dad for all the memories. Ken will be interred in Carrington, ND with wife Norma. A family memorial service is planned at a future date.
