Fees, 82, of Fremont died Wednesday, April 13, 2011, at Shalimar Gardens in Fremont. He was born Feb. 27, 1929, in St. Edward to Anthony and Alyce (Hyland) Fees. He grew up in Albion and in 1944 moved to Platte Center. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II from June 5, 1946, to Oct. 24, 1947, and served in Japan. After his discharge, he farmed. He moved to Fremont in 1953 and was employed at Valmont Industries in Valley for 32 years. He married Delores A. Pieper on April 24, 1951, in Dodge. He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Fremont and a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 854 of Fremont. Survivors include: his wife; daughters, Joni (and husband, Lee) Sauter of Lincoln and Dianne (and husband, Bob) Kimball of Omaha; sons, Don (and wife, Lynne) Fees of Omaha and Larry (and wife, Terry) Fees of Blair; a sister, Patricia "Patty" (and husband, Clarence) Frazee of Rosiclare, Ill.; 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister and five brothers. The funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Fremont with the Rev. Dave Belt officiating. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont with the family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to service time Saturday at the church. A vigil service will be 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. The military graveside service will be conducted by the Fremont Honor Guard of VFW Post 854 and American Legion Post 20 at Calvary Cemetery in Fremont. A memorial has been established to St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Fremont.
