Description	:	Kenneth Eugene "Ken" Kallhoff, of Winnetoon, Nebraska, died Tuesday, April 30, 2013, at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa, after a short illness from acute leukemia. Ken, son of Ferdinand and Lucille (Lyons) Kallhoff, was born on May 27, 1945 at Tilden, Nebraska. Read More	Kenneth Eugene "Ken" Kallhoff, of Winnetoon, Nebraska, died Tuesday, April 30, 2013, at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa, after a short illness from acute leukemia. Ken, son of Ferdinand and Lucille (Lyons) Kallhoff, was born on May 27, 1945 at Tilden, Nebraska. Ken attended and graduated from St. Mary's High School at Bird Island, Minnesota, with the Class of 1964. On April 18, 1969, he was married to Linda L. Boggs. The couple was blessed with two children, Kim and Tara. Ken and Linda moved to Winnetoon, Nebraska in 1975, where Ken was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in the neighboring village of Bazile Mills, and served as a Trustee. He was also a sponsor for the Church Youth Group and had many adventures with the youth during trips to the Black Hills. Ken was a Winnetoon, Nebraska City Council member and served as Mayor of Winnetoon, Nebraska for 20 years. He was a member of the Creighton (NE.) VFW and American Legion, and proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. But what most people around Northeast Nebraska will remember Ken best for was his hard work and dedication to his customers that he did carpentry and building work for. He shingled countless houses around the area, and did repair and remodeling work to buildings large and small, from the average single car garage on up to the Knox County, Nebraska Courthouse. In his spare time, Ken was an avid Husker Football fan and rarely missed a game. He looked forward to turkey hunting each fall with his friends from Tobias. Ken also looked forward to the day he would have sons to share his hobbies and love for the outdoors with. He was blessed with Dave and Lou, who after marriage to his daughters, became like sons to Ken. He dearly loved his grandchildren, and they all looked forward to rides on the lawnmower with "Papa". Ken was a loving father and husband who would do anything for "his girls". He will be greatly missed by many. Ken is survived by his wife of 44 years, Linda Kallhoff of Winnetoon, Nebraska; daughters, Kim (husband Dave) Boyle of Osmond, Nebraska, and Tara (husband Lou) Rohan of Newcastle, Nebraska; grandchildren, Alison (Joe Weber) Kallhoff, Ian Rohan, Jacob Rohan, Logan Rohan, Makayla Boyle, Zachary Boyle, and John Boyle; Linda's siblings and their families (who were like sisters and brothers to Ken), Barbara Boggs (Aaron Boggs and Emilea Wilmes) of Winnetoon, Sandy Boggs of Norfolk, Nebraska, Leonard "Butch" Jr. (wife Vivian) Boggs, of Winnetoon, and Tom (wife Lorna) Boggs of Neligh, Nebraska; Ken's siblings, Jo Kallhoff, Kathleen Smith, Patty Gorton, Ruth Smith, Willie Kallhoff, and John Kallhoff and ahost of relatives and friends. Ken was preceded in death by: parents; sister, Benilda Reubel; brothers, Stan and Jim Kallhoff and parents-in-law, Leonard, Sr. and Elaine Boggs. Burial was in the Christ Lutheran Cemetery, Knox County, Nebraska, Military Honors will be conducted by VFW Post #1151 and American Legion Post 74, both of Creighton, Nebraska.
