Description	:	BLAKESBURG - Kenneth E. Orman, 68, of 3022 Adams Road, died Oct. 19, 2011, at his home. He was born Jan. 5, 1943, in Wapello County to Archie W. and Letha Mae Batterson Orman. He married Sandra Gruber on Oct. 5, 1962. A graduate of Blakesburg High School in 1961, he had farmed all of his life in the Blakesburg area. He was a past member of... Read More	BLAKESBURG - Kenneth E. Orman, 68, of 3022 Adams Road, died Oct. 19, 2011, at his home. He was born Jan. 5, 1943, in Wapello County to Archie W. and Letha Mae Batterson Orman. He married Sandra Gruber on Oct. 5, 1962. A graduate of Blakesburg High School in 1961, he had farmed all of his life in the Blakesburg area. He enjoyed farming, old tractors, old machinery and visiting with friends and neighbors. he was a member of the Blakesburg Christian Church, where he had served as a deacon. He was a past member of the Wapello County Cattlemen and Wapello County Pork Producers and a former director of Southern Iowa Electric Co-op. Surviving are his wife, Sandra; two sons, Mike(Lori)Orman of Blakesburg and Jim(Mandi)Orman of Bouton, Iowa; a daughter, Bonnie(Doug)McMullin of Ottumwa; six grandchildren, Dally Orman, Ashley, Andy and Arin McMullin, Jarrett Orman and Jacey Orman; two brothers, Bill(Leslie)Orman of Ottumwa, Joe(Becky)Orman of Hatch, Utah; two sisters, Betty(Chuck)Hindman of Albia and Linda(Ralph P.)Owen of Ottumwa; his father, Archie Orman of Ottumwa; father-in-law and Mother-in-law, Arthur and Frances Gruber of Ottumwa; nieces; nephews; aunts; uncles; and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother, Letha Orman. Funeral services will be 10 am Saturday at Blakesburg Christian Church; with Rev. Carol Iammatteo-Code and Dick Kirkman officiating. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 10 am Friday at Reece Funeral Home with the family present from 6-8 pm Friday evening. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Central Iowa or Blakesburg Christian Church.
