Cook, 90, of Topeka, died Saturday, July 9, 2005, at the Jefferson County Geriatrics Center. He was born July 18, 1914, in Winchester, the son of Edward E. and Etta Housh Cook. He lived there until 1941, when he moved to Washington, D.C. to work for the Department of the Navy. Kenneth held various responsible positions in accounting, procurement, production and logistics relative to electronic equipment. He was also coordinator for a NATO Working Group on the Standardization of Electronic Parts. He retired in 1972 and moved to Topeka in 1978. Mr. Cook was a 32nd Degree Mason and Past Master of Congress Lodge No. 37, now Harmony Lodge No. 17. He was also a York Rite Mason and life member of Almas Shrine Temple, all of Washington, D.C. He was a dual member of Topeka Lodge No.17 and Arab Shrine Temple of Topeka. He married Bethel Graham, of McLouth, on June 6, 1937, in Fall City, Neb. She passed away in December 1993. Survivors include a sister, Moyne Ragland, Broomfield, Colo.; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Delmer Cook, in 1977. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Mount Hope Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel. Entombment will be in Mount Hope Mausoleum. Mr. Cook will lie in state at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel after 2 p.m. Tuesday, and visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Winchester Methodist Church, Winchester, Kan., or the Jefferson County Home Health and Hospice, 1212 Walnut, Oskaloosa, Kan. 66066.
