Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Epworth, with burial in the church cemetery. He was born on March 19, 1963, in Dubuque, son of George and Maureen (Sherlock) Recker. He received his elementary education at St. Patrick's School, Epworth. He was a 1982 graduate of Western Dubuque High School, Epworth, where he lettered in wrestling. He was also a graduate of the University of Northern Iowa. He was a computer enthusiast. He loved participating in "Fantasy Football" and was an avid Vikings fan. Surviving are his parents, George and Maureen Recker, of Epworth; four brothers, Mike Recker (fiancee Gail Petersen), of Minneapolis, Steve (Katie) Recker, of Epworth, and Marty (Angie) Recker, and Brian (Abby) Recker, both of Dubuque; two sisters, Mary Jo (Tom) Danner, of Peosta, and Karen (Dave) Scott, of Denver; three nephews, Danny Recker, Drew Danner, and godson, Nicholas Recker; three nieces, Sarah and Katie Danner, and Alexis Recker; and his maternal grandmother, Lillian Sherlock, of Worthington. He was preceded in death by a sister, Donna Recker, on Nov. 30, 1982; his maternal grandfather, Joe Sherlock; and his paternal grandparents, George and Ludwina Recker. In lieu of flowers, a Kenneth J. Recker Memorial Fund has been established for computers for the Epworth school system. "Ken was a loving son, brother, brother-in-law, uncle and godfather.
