Description	:	Kenneth Leon Lorance JONESBORO — Kenneth Leon Lorance, 80, died Friday, Aug. 17, 2007, at Skilcare Nursing Home. He was born on March 4, 1927, at Rector to W.C. and Verna Massey Lorance. He lived in New Mexico and Arizona for many years before moving back to Jonesboro. He was a graduate of Arkansas State University with a bachelor of arts degree in English and history, and a bachelor of science degree in education. Read More	Kenneth Leon Lorance JONESBORO — Kenneth Leon Lorance, 80, died Friday, Aug. 17, 2007, at Skilcare Nursing Home. He was born on March 4, 1927, at Rector to W.C. and Verna Massey Lorance. He lived in New Mexico and Arizona for many years before moving back to Jonesboro. He was a graduate of Arkansas State University with a bachelor of arts degree in English and history, and a bachelor of science degree in education. Mr. Lorance was a retired elementary school teacher for 30 years and taught in Dexter, Mo., and Wynne, and most of his career in Crown Point, N.M. Before moving back to Jonesboro he worked for two years as a parts manager for a Ford dealership in Globe, Ariz. He was a former member of the Kiwanis Club in New Mexico and was president of a gun club in Arizona. Mr. Lorance served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II and was a member of the American Legion. He was a member of Greensboro Road Church of Christ in Jonesboro. He is survived by a sister, Sue Ollar and her husband Paul of Rogers; two nephews, Kevin Kelley of Jonesboro and Philip Ollar of Rogers; and one uncle, Chalmers Lorance of Bryant. Private graveside services will be held in Woodland Heights Cemetery at Rector. A family memorial service will be held at a later date. The family requests lasting memorials to the Craighead County and Jonesboro Public Library, 315 West Oak Ave., Jonesboro 72401.
