Description	:	Kenneth L. Liebsch, age 93, of Volga, died Sunday, January 12, 2014, at the Golden Living Center in Arlington, South Dakota. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, January 16, 2014, at First Lutheran Church in Volga, with interment in the church cemetery. Visitations will be from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at Eidsness Funeral Chapel in Volga. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to First Lutheran Church. Kenneth Lonzo Liebsch was born March 6, 1920, at White, South Dakota, to Edmund and Sena (Nielsen) Liebsch. He received his education in rural schools in Brookings County. He was baptized and confirmed at First Lutheran Church in Volga. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II from 1942 until 1944. After his discharge from the Army he continued farming. On March 2, 1945, he married Evelyn L. Alexander at Volga. They farmed together until retiring in 1985. After his retirement, Kenny continued to help area farmers. Kenny was a member of First Lutheran Church in Volga, where he served as an usher for over 30 years. Since 1945, he was a member of Burrows-Young American Legion Post No. 114. He enjoyed camping, playing cards, having coffee with friends, and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He and Evelyn spent many winters in Mesa, Arizona. Survivors include his wife, Evelyn, of Volga; daughter-in-law, Jan Liebsch (Steve), of Sioux Falls; two grandchildren, Stacy Liebsch (Chris) of Indianola, Iowa, and Traci Abraham (Morris) of Sioux Falls; two great-grandchildren, Mackinzie and Ryley Liebsch; three step-great-grandchildren, Chanda Ji, and Mitchel and Mindy Abraham; brother, Edmund (Genevieve) Liebsch, Jr., of Sioux Falls; two sisters: Darlene Twedt and Lila Bennett, both of Bremerton, Washington; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by twin sons, Richard and Robert; two sisters, Leona and Mavis; and a brother, DeWayne.
