He was born at Salem on April 24, 1921, to Marcus L. and Ella Boling Criswell. He married Amanda Mitchell at Monticello on Nov. 14, 1953. She survives. He was born at Salem on April 24, 1921, to Marcus L. and Ella Boling Criswell. He married Amanda Mitchell at Monticello on Nov. 14, 1953. She survives. He attended Burnettsville High School and was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army. He worked as a carpenter for 20 years and retired from Criswell Builders. He had also been engaged in farming. For 19 years, he worked at Bryans Manufacturing and had also worked for two years in an aluminum plant. He was a member of the First Baptist Church. He enjoyed gardening. Other survivors include children, Russell (Dee) Miller of Lafayette, Barbara (Bill) Dalrymple of Charlotte, N.C., Vickie (Andy) Tetzloff of Lafayette, Arlie L. Criswell of Idaville, Jessie (Carmalita) Miller of Monticello and Ed (Nancy) Criswell of Panama City, Fla.; brothers, Ernest Gale Criswell of Burnettsville and Boyd (Jeannie) Criswell of Idaville; sisters, Lyndell (Bob) Hawkins of Americus, Faye (Bob) Johnson of Valparaiso and Joy (Jack) Shaffer of Panama City, Fla.; 13 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. Three brothers and two sisters are deceased. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Monday at Fisher-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Mark Pittman officiating. Burial, with full military rites, will be at Riverview I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church.
