Born March 2, 1945, in Burlington, he was the son of Orville and Grace Baker Broeker. He married Paula Parsons June 28, 1969, in Danville. He was a 1964 graduate of New London High School and attended Northeast Missouri State University in Kirksville. He was a sergeant in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a postal clerk in Mount Pleasant for the past 12 years. He was an active member in the Mount Pleasant Boosters Club and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. Surviving are his wife; two sons, Brent and Todd, both of Mount Pleasant; his parents, Morning Sun; his grandmother, Viola Baker, New London; one brother, William Broeker, Leavenworth, Kansas; and one sister, Sharlene Broeker, Overland Park, Kansas. Friends may call Saturday afternoon and evening at Elliott Chapel, New London, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday. The service for Mr. Broeker will be 2 p.m. Monday at the First Presbyterian Church, Mount Pleasant, with the Reverend Larry Mitchell officiating. Burial will be in the Forest Home Cemetery, Mount Pleasant. A memorial has been established for the Mount Pleasant Boosters Club.
