Description	:	Kenneth Miles Swan, son of Cor Dell and Myrle Marie Brinkley Swan was born August 7, 1926 in Wayne County, IA and passed away on March 29, 2012. He lived all of his life in Wayne County except from 1944-1946 while he was in the Army. He married Nadine McKee on January 9, 1946 and this union was blessed with two children, Kenetha Marlene and Kendell M. Swan. They enjoyed 62 years of marriage before her death in 2008. Read More	Kenneth Miles Swan, son of Cor Dell and Myrle Marie Brinkley Swan was born August 7, 1926 in Wayne County, IA and passed away on March 29, 2012. He lived all of his life in Wayne County except from 1944-1946 while he was in the Army. He married Nadine McKee on January 9, 1946 and this union was blessed with two children, Kenetha Marlene and Kendell M. Swan. They enjoyed 62 years of marriage before her death in 2008. Kenneth and Nadine spent their lives farming in Wayne County. Kenneth also enjoyed working at the Iowa State Fair and did so for over 50 years. He made many lasting friendships during those years. He loved to visit and never met a stranger. Kenneth was a 50 year member of the Masonic Lodge, Order of Eastern Star, and Seymour American Legion. Kenneth was a loving husband, father, grandfather and 2-Papa. One of the proudest moments in his life was when all three of his grandsons and his son-in-law became members of the Masonic Lodge. Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, CD and Myrle Swan, his wife Nadine, his sister Norma Holmes an infant brother Bernard, an infant sister Dorothy, brother in law John Holmes and brother in law, Milo Snider. He is survived by his daughter Kenetha and her husband Michael McGraw of Allerton, IA, his son Kendell M. Swan of Corydon, IA, three grandsons, Eric Michael McGraw of Allerton, IA, Brian Miles McGraw (Barbara) of Norwalk, IA and Corey James McGraw of Allerton, IA, four great grandchildren, Mikayla Nadine McGraw and Addison Joy McGraw of Norwalk, IA, Colby Kenneth McGraw of Parkersburg, IA and Cameron McGraw of Allerton, IA, his sister Helen Snider of Seymour, IA and brother Clinton Swan of Centerville, IA, nieces, nephews, and many friends. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Kenneth spent his entire life tilling the land, raising cattle, nurturing his family and he enjoyed life to its fullest. He worked hard and took great pride and pleasure in the small things, especially his grandsons and in later years, his great grandchildren. He was proud of his family and always gave much more than he took. He told those stories of his and if we'd heard them once, we'd heard them a 100 times, but we listened anyway and we will miss them! We are all proud to have called him Dad, Grandpa and 2-Papa. He was our hero.
