He died Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012, at Faith Regional Health Services. Kenneth P. Geyer, son of Paul F. and Rosetta A. (Christiansen) Geyer, was born June 18, 1929, at Newman Grove. Kenneth grew up in rural Newman Grove, where he attended Bell Rural School (District 29) near the family home. From 1951 to 1953, Kenneth served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. On Oct. 4, 1953, he was married to Elaine Koenig at Trinity Lutheran Church in Newman Grove. The couple were blessed with two children: Susan and James. Kenneth and Elaine raised their family and farmed north of Newman Grove. Kenneth was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church at Buffalo Creek, where he held several offices during his lifetime. He was also a member of the Norfolk Antique Auto Club and enjoyed restoring Chevy cars and antique tractors. Kenneth is survived by his wife, Elaine; daughter Susan; son James; three grandsons; seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Donald; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
