Son of John Paul and Helen Lucina (Olsen)Gepner Kenneth Paul Gepner,52,Clay Center,died Friday,February 21,1997,at the Washington County Hospital. Mr. Gepner was born November 8,1944, in Clay Center, the son of Paul John and Helen Lucina (Olsen) Gepner. He was a graduate of Clay County High School in 1962. He served 6 years in the National Guard. He farmed with hi father for several years and did soil conservation work. He operated a road grater for Bloom Township and worked for N-K Body Shop and Wilhelm Electric in earlier years. The past 20 years he was employed at C&W Rural Electric as equipment operator and lineman. He had a great love for working on vehicles and always had several projects going;buth always had time to help friends. He was a member of First Baptist Church. On August 20,1967, Kenneth married Alice Marie Murk. to this union two childre were born,Tamara Marie and Eric Edward. The family enjoyed many fun years of camping,fishing and boating. He was preceded in death by his father,Paul Gepner. He is survived by his wife,Alice Gepner of the home;a daughter, Tamara Hoenie and husband Lance,Manhattan;a son,Eric Gepner,Clay Center;his mother,Helen Gepner,Clay Center;a sister,Evalene Larson and husband Ken,Lawrence;a brother,Daryl Gepner,Seattle,Wash.;several nephews and nieces and many relatives and friends. Funeral service were held,Tuesday,February 25,1997 at first Baptist Church,Clay Center,with Pastor Dan Kline officiating. Music was provied by organist, Dee Germann and soloist,Dejbra Reeves who sang "Amazing Grace" and "He Touched Me" and "How Great Thou Art" bu the congregation. Internment was at Greenwood Cemetery. Casket bearers were:Lowell Roberts,Dale Hammond, Lee Barleen,Jon Griffiths,Tony Hitsman,Larry Rundle,John George,and Steve Worley. Neill-Schwensen-Rook Mortuary was in charge of the arrangements.
