Read More	Kenneth R Drewelow, 95, a long time Kirkland resident and current Wenatchee resident died on Saturday March 24, 2007, in Wenatchee. Ken was born to the late Richard and Bessie (McKenzie) Drewelow on April 20, 1911, at home in Stanton, NE. Ken attended Stanton public schools and graduated from high school in 1928, where he lettered in football, basketball and track. Upon graduation from high school, he attended Doane College for one year lettering in football and track before transferring to the University of Nebraska. After two years he entered their College of Medicine and graduated in 1935 with an M.D. degree. He spent one year interning at St. Luke's Hospital in San Francisco and two years residency in Family Practice at Harborview Hospital in Seattle. He practiced at the Sherwood Clinic in Kirkland from 1938-1942. In 1942 he entered the U.S. Army Air Force and was an Officer and Flight Surgeon in the 388th Bomb Group, a B-17 bomber squadron, stationed in Europe until November 1945. Upon leaving the Air Force, he, along with Dr. Gordon Dempsey, founded the Lake Shore Clinic in February 1946 in Kirkland, WA. He was associated with the Lake Shore Clinic until his retirement in 1975. He was on the staff of Providence Hospital in Seattle and Overlake and Evergreen Hospitals on the Eastside. Ken was a member of the Kirkland Congregational Church for many years. He was an avid golfer and former long time member of Overlake Golf and Country Club in Bellevue and Sunrise Golf and Country Club in Rancho Mirage, CA. In addition to golf, he enjoyed spectator sports, reading and studying history. Ken is survived by a loving family; his wife of 51 years, Louise of Wenatchee WA; his son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Judi Drewelow of Montgomery, TX; his son and daughter-in-law, James and Jane Drewelow of East Wenatchee, WA; his daughter and son-in-law, Janet and John Meihaus of Laguna Niguel, CA; five grandsons, three granddaughters and two great-grandsons. He was preceded in death by his sister, Ruth; and his first wife of 15 years, Agnes. Funeral Services for Dr. Drewelow will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 2 2007, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Kirkland Washington. Concluding Services will be at Sunset Hills Memorial Park in Bellevue, WA. If desired, memorials may be made in the name of Dr. K. R. Drewelow and sent to Kirkland Parks and Community Services, Kirkland WA. Local arrangements have been entrusted to the Jones and Jones Funeral Home.
