His Funeral will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 24, at the United Methodist Church at Mitchell with Pastor Sheila Taylor officiating. Interment will be in the Mitchell City Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the Nebraska National Guard. A Memorial has been established to the Church. Friends may call at the Jones Mortuary, Wednesday, January 23 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Condolences may be emailed to his family at [email protected] Kenneth was born July 8, 1924, in Gering, the son of Ralph Alfred and Ethel Bernice (Foster) Frailey. He attended school at Mitchell. He was a World War II veteran in the Pacific Theatre, he enlisted in the U. S. Army Air Corp, May 3, 1943, and was honorably discharged Feb. 20, 1946, with the rank of Sergeant and serving as a radio operator. He returned to Mitchell, where he worked as a commercial painter, at T.P. Welding, Great Plains Dairy and retired from the Panhandle Coop at Mitchell. Kenneth was united in marriage to Dorothy Eileen (Fulton) Kephart. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and following the Nebraska Cornhusker and Denver Broncos. He was a member of the Church, Michie McKeowen American Legion Post #124, the Admiral Dewey VFW Post #1681 and former member of the Masonic Lodge. Survivors include his children, Keith (Shirley) Kephart of Commerce City, Colo., Gary Kephart of Searchlight, Nev., Ron (Rita) Kephart of Mitchell, Judith Lood of Mitchell, Nancy Markel of Snyder, Neb., Randy (Susan) Kephart of Torrington, Wyo., Kathleen Frailey McCarty (John) of Raymond, N.H.; 12 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; brother, Frank (Glenda) Frailey of Mitchell; sisters, Beryl (Norman) Harrington of Scottsbluff, Ailene Beach of Burghill, Ohio, Anne (John) Plaster of Scottsbluff; daughters-in-law, Ruth Kephart of Mitchell and Iris Kephart of Scottsbluff. Preceding him in death were his parents; wife, Dorothy; son, Gerald "Joe" Kephart; grandson, Kelly Mark Kephart; granddaughter, Kensy Kephart; step-grandson, Mike Jergens; son-in-law, Dewey Markel and brother-in-law, Clarence Beach.
