Purdy, the son of Frank H. and Myrle Naylor Purdy, was born at Phillips, Nebraska on August 17, 1910. His death occurred at Aurora, Nebraska on September 19, 1978, at the age of 68 years, 1 month and 2 days. He spent his entire lifetime in the Phillips community, and attended the public schools of that vicinity. He was employed as a maintenance employee for the Hamilton County Highway Department for several years. He served as a security guard at the Grand Island Ordnance Plant during World War II. For several years he has been self employed as an interior/exterior decorator. Kenneth was a member of the United Methodist Church in Phillips since early childhood. His parents had preceded him in death. Those who survive are two brothers, Wendell of Monterey Park, California and Maynard of Hampton; two sisters, Mrs. Avis Larsen of Omaha and Mrs. Lucille Plank of Grand Island; several nieces and nephews and other relatives and many close friends.
