Read More	The following is from the Adair County "Free Press" issue of Thursday, February 5, 1925, page 6: "CANBY-EUREKA Obituary of Kenneth Lounsbury Kenneth Verlin, eldest son of Howard and Edna Lounsbury was born at Lawn Hill Farm near Canby, Iowa, August 12, 1909 and passed from this life Jan. 26, 1925, at the age of 15 years, 5 months and 14 days. His death which comes as a shock to the entire community, brings to a sudden close a young life, which was full of promise and removes from our midst one whose cheery, kindly spirit, and excellent traits of character have endeared him to all who knew him. Although never very rugged Kenneth was exceptionally industrious and the willingness with which he shared with his father the duties of the farm was unusual in a boy of his age. In June 1923 he graduated from rural schools and the following fall entered the Freshman class in the Fontanelle High School, and had just completed the work of the first semester of his sophomore year a few days before his death. In the school, as in the home, his work was painstaking and thorough; placing him among the best students in the school. All his life Kenneth has been a regular attendant of the Sunday School and always entered into the activities of his class with great enjoyment. In early childhood, he gave his heart and life into the keeping of Christ, and in this, we have the secret of the serene happy life of the quiet lad who has finished his work here and gone Home to be with Him whom to know aright is life. Besides his parents he leaves to mourn his loss, his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. B. P. Lounsbury and Mr. and Mrs. M. A. Woodruff, four sisters, Alice, Bernice, Helen and baby Margaret Elinor, three brothers, Carl, Arthur Dale and Gordon, a number of other relatives and a host of friends. It is not ours to understand why God wills it so, but we can say with Paul 'I know in whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto Him against that day'"
