Read More	Son of Mearl Franklin Goode and Hazel Creola Nine OBITUARY THE CHARITON LEADER Chariton, Iowa Tuesday, August 1, 1944 KENNETH WAYNE GOODE Kenneth Wayne Goode, son of Mr. and Mrs. Mearl Goode, was born in Lucas county, Iowa near Norwood on Oct. 7, 1927, and passed away July 21, 1944, at the age of 16 years, 9 months and 14 days. While working in Lincoln, Nebr., he was suddenly stricken with appendicitis and was operated on at the Yocom hospital in Chariton, Iowa on July 13. In January, 1938, Kenneth came to Chariton with his parents and other members of the family, where he has since made his home. He worked for a time on a farm and at the time of his death was employed with the signal crew on the C.B.& Q. Railway Company. He took a great interest in this type of employment and wished to make it his permanent work. There never was a kinder, more devoted son and brother than Kenneth. His short life was spent helping others whenever he could and his departure has left a vacancy in the hearts of his family, relatives and a large circle of friends. Surviving him are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Mearl Goode; two sisters, Margaret and Donna, and two brothers, Jerry and Ronald, and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services, conducted by Rev. John Dowd, were held at 2:00 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the United Brethren church, and burial was in the Norwood cemetery. Obituary courtesy of Charles M.
