Kenneth "Kenny" Wayne Dollman, son of Roy and Blanche (Ferris) Dollman, was born on May 13, 1937, in Wagner, SD. He grew up in Platte, SD, and received his education there until enlisting in the United States Army. Dollman, 68 of Sioux Falls, died on Wednesday August 24, 2005, at his home surrounded by family. Kenneth "Kenny" Wayne Dollman, son of Roy and Blanche (Ferris) Dollman, was born on May 13, 1937, in Wagner, SD. He grew up in Platte, SD, and received his education there until enlisting in the United States Army. He was medically discharged, and then returned to Brookings, SD, where he worked at various jobs in construction. He eventually started an apprenticeship and then became a journeyman electrician. Kenneth was united in marriage with Janice Johnson on February 5, 1966, at the Benton Lutheran Church in Crooks, SD. In 1968 the couple moved to Phoenix, AZ, and then back and forth between Sioux Falls and Phoenix as work dictated, while raising a family. In 1991 the couple moved to Platte, SD, where Kenneth served on the city council and continued to work until health problems forced him to retire in 1994. In 1998 they moved to Sioux Falls where he remained until present. Kenny was a giving person and enjoyed volunteering as a shop instructor with the Service to the Blind and Vision Impaired. He also volunteered with Tom Daschle's office. Kenny enjoyed bass fishing, camping, and hunting for pheasant and deer. He was a member of the IBEW Unions #640 in Phoenix and #426 in Sioux Falls. Kenneth was a confident and determined gentleman. He put up a courageous and valiant fight with his cancer to the very end. He touched many people's lives and after being diagnosed with cancer, would still encourage people to "Be Happy". One of his greatest passions in life were his grandchildren and he thought a lot of them. Grateful for having shared his life are his wife Janice Dollman, Sioux Falls, SD; three sons, Paul Dollman, Rapid City, SD, Jim Dollman and his wife Jamie, Phoenix, AZ, Greg Dollman and Terri Kreth, Mitchell, SD; a daughter, Nancy Gottschalk and her husband Chuck, New Underwood, SD; four sisters, Carole Jean Mayfield and her husband John, Charles City, IA, Nancy Miller and her husband George, Platte, SD, Linda Miner and her husband Roger, Lincoln, NE, Judy Prawdzik and her husband Jim, Sioux Falls, SD; Grandchildren, Brandi, Taylor, Josh, Mercedes, Ronda Devaughn and her husband Darin, Dustin; and a host of other relatives and friends. Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Wayne Dollman. Visitation will begin at 12pm Friday August 26, 2005, at Miller Funeral Home, 13th & Main, with the family present from 5 to 7pm. A funeral service will be held at 1:30pm Saturday August 27, 2005 at Benton Lutheran Church with burial at Benton Lutheran Cemetery, Crooks, SD. Miller funeral Home- 8/2005
