Kent Alan Halvorson was born December 11, 1940, in Esmond, ND, to Geno and Ada (Pearson) Halvorson. He graduated from high school at Maddock, ND. Kent Alan Halvorson was born December 11, 1940, in Esmond, ND, to Geno and Ada (Pearson) Halvorson. He graduated from high school at Maddock, ND. Kent then worked as a bookkeeper for a period of time. He was united in marriage to Judy Hangsleben on March 2, 1963, in Bemidji, MN. The couple made their home in Grand Forks, ND and for a brief time lived in California. Returning to North Dakota, Kent attended Junior College where he received a two-year accounting degree. In 1981, the family moved to Bismark, ND. He began a career in finish carpentry and five years later, the family moved to Omaha, NE. Kent retired in 1992, when he and Judy made their home in Sioux Falls, SD. He was an avid small gas engine model airplane flyer and was a member of the Sod Busters Flying Club. In his free time, he also enjoyed working with model trains sets. A dedicated husband and father, Kent was always there for anyone in need. Grateful for having shared his life are his relatives: wife, Judy Halvorson, of Sioux Falls, SD; sons, Kurtis Halvorson and his wife, Linda, Ft. Collins, CO, Kyle Halvorson and his wife, Marla, Springfield, NE; two grandchildren, Eric and Brittany; three great-grandchildren, Kyla, Ashtyn and Ariebella; and brother, Dale Halvorson and his wife, Mavis, Minnewaukan, ND. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Larry. Memorial Services will be held at Miller Funeral Home, 13th and Main Avenue. Interment will be in Esmond, ND.
