Visitation will take place on Tuesday, July 14 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Iles Westover Chapel. Funeral Services will be held at Zion Lutheran Church, Imperial, NE, on Monday, July 20 at 10:30 a.m. Kermit was born near Lotts Creek, Iowa, on May 24, 1927, to Edward and Ida Kuecker. He grew up on the family farm and graduated from Algona High School. Afterwards, he joined the Air Force and then farmed near Algona. He married Connie Haarberg on June 27, 1954. They moved to Nebraska in 1966 and to Imperial in 1975. Here Kermit continued to farm and later worked at the local coop. Kermit was active in his church and community. He is preceded in death by his wife Connie in 2009, two infant sons, six siblings, Delbert, Kenneth, Lucille, Gertrude, Lois, and Willis. Kermit is survived by his five daughters, Kathy Asay, Rochester, MN; Carol Kuecker, Phoenix, AZ; Rebecca (James) Bish, Manassas, VA; Marcia (Michael) Hunter, Clive, IA; and Jacquelyn (Raymond) Bailey, Chicago, IL, seven grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, and three siblings, Gerald Kuecker, Cylinder, IA; Richard Kuecker, Livermore, IA; and Jean Gerdis, Algona, IA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Lutheran Hour or the Alzheimer's Association. The family would like to Thank the staff at Arbor Springs, West Des Moines, and Walnut Ridge of Clive for their care of Kermit.
