The funeral will be held Thursday with burial at Delhi. He was 87 years of age. Mr. Dolton was a honored membeer of Blue Hill Lodge and a Mason continously for 66 years. Dolton, b. 1881 Mable Dolton, b. 1883 Maud Dolton, b. 1892 Edward Dolton, b. 1882 Lex Dolton, b. 1897 Earl Dolton Kinder Dolton (Dalton) was born February 14, 1852 in Indiana. He came with his father William Dolton, to Kansas in 1876 and settled at Delhi, Kansas. Two years later he returned to Martinsburg, Iowa and married Ella Chadwick and they returned to Kansas. Ella was born in 1857 in Illinois. He homesteaded the SE1/4 of Section 23-10-11. Kinder was a Methodist in Iowa (Mount Zion Church) and a Mason. He was raised to sublime degree of Master Masons. At Delhi he helped organize the Blue Hills No. 198 in 1880. His father was first Master, and Kinder was the second, 1884. William Died January 1, 1884. In 1888 the Blue Hills No. 198 was moved to Lucas. Later he helped organize the Luray Lodge and still later the Masonic Lodge at Morland. He was a charter member of three different Masonic Lodges. Kinder had a sale in Delhi in the fall of 1887 and opened the Luray Cash Store (dry goods and groceries) in the new town of Luray on January 18, 1888. He kept his farm in Delhi Township. He had bought the E1/2 of Section 16-10-11 which was Kansas school land. He must have moved back to this farm later as his children were listed on the school census in District No. 70 in 1898 and as late as 1907. Kinder and Ella had eight children: Lucy I., born 1878 at Delhi, died May 6, 1879, buried in Delhi Cemetery; Chloa E., born about 1880, married (1) Frank Elliott; Willie O. born about 1881; Mable, born about 1883; Maud, born about 1892; Edward, born about 1882; Lex born 1897; Earl. Ella died in 1938; Kinder died May 15, 1938 in Greeley, Colorado at the home of his daughter Maude. He was survived by one brother, Robert of Martinsburg, Iowa; two sisters, Mrs. Lucy Bland Townsend, Lucas; and Mrs. Mary Haling of Los Angeles; his widow Ella; his children: Chloa McAttee of Greeley, Colorado; Maude Teglman of Greeley, Colorado; W.O. Dolton of Denver; Earl Dolton of Denver and Mabel Peterson of Brighton, Colorado. Mr. and Mrs. Dolton were buried at his request at "Old Delhi" near the old scenes he loved so well.
