Born Jan. 14, 1887 at Bergen, Norway, a son of Nels and Ingeborg Jurgenson Toft, he came to the United States in 1903 and lived with an uncle at Beresford, S. Dak. he moved to North Dakota in 1910 and homesteaded eight miles south of Halliday. he continued to make his home there until he retired in 1957 and moved to Dodge. he married Ruth Pederson Oct. 23, 1917 at Bismarck. Born Jan. 14, 1887 at Bergen, Norway, a son of Nels and Ingeborg Jurgenson Toft, he came to the United States in 1903 and lived with an uncle at Beresford, S. Dak. he moved to North Dakota in 1910 and homesteaded eight miles south of Halliday. he continued to make his home there until he retired in 1957 and moved to Dodge. he married Ruth Pederson Oct. 23, 1917 at Bismarck. She survives, as do three brothers; Nel, Ole, and Magnus and two sisters Lena and Ingeborg. One brother and one sister preceded him in death. Funeral services were held Saturday, Aug. 26 at 2o'clock at Bible Presbyterian Church in Dodge where he was a member. Rev. Robert Hoyle officiated. Interment was at Spring Creek Cemetery, east of Dodge. Pallbearers were Lloyd, Kenneth and Hjalmer Selle, John Anderson, Emil and John Rokness Origin Unknown
