Kristine Cheryl Dostal was born on December 18, 1957, in Cedar Falls, Iowa; she was the daughter of Mel and Rosalie (Chrudimsky) Dostal. Kris attended Marshalltown Community Schools graduating with the class of 1976, and then attended Iowa State University graduating with a degree in Home Economics in 1980. On April 25, 1981 Kris was united in marriage to Rick DeVolder at St Henry's Catholic Church in Marshalltown, Iowa. Kris and Rick had lived in Marshalltown their entire married life. Kris had been a member of St Henry's Catholic Church, Bell Choir and her "card club". She had been employed at McFarland Clinic for the past 16 years. Kris loved the outdoors and enjoyed her walks and gardening, she was a great seamstress and loved to craft, but the most important thing in Kris's life was her family, most of all was her grandchildren which she loved to be involved with. Left to cherish Kris's life is her husband of 30 years Rick, her children: Beth (Wade Judge) DeVolder of Marshalltown, Ross (Jodi) DeVolder of Champaign, Illinois, her grandchildren Aidan and Finley, Kris's father, Mel Dostal of Marshalltown, Iowa, Kris's siblings: Susan (Don) Sears of Clive, Sandy (Rich) Nauman of Des Moines and Brian (Suzette) Dostal of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and many nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Kris was preceded in death by her mother Rosalie in 2009.
