Per his wishes, Kurt has been cremated and a Memorial Service will be Friday, January 5, 2018 at the Schroeder-Reimers Memorial Chapel, at Sixth and Marshall at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Kurt Douglas Walker, was born in Boone, Iowa on October 19, 1951, the son of Theodore “Ted” and Bonnie (Price) Walker. He graduated from Boone High School in 1969. He enlisted in the United State Air Force in 1970, and served during the Vietnam War. He was an Accountant and reached the rank of Master Sergeant. During his service he received the Bronze Star. Kurt was honorably discharged in 1991. Kurt loved movies and books and enjoyed playing Strat O'Matic. Most of all, he loved to spoil his grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents. Kurt is survived by his son, Robert Walker and his fiancé, Heather Lambert of Baldwin, Iowa; his daughter, Tracy Ahrens and her husband, Jarod of Ames; five grandchildren, Matthew and Michaela Walker and Avery, Kelton and Amelia “Millie” Ahrens; two brothers, Brian Walker and his fiancé, Diana Sidler of Boone and Lance Walker of Boone; one sister, Karla Neese and her husband, Lance of Webster City, Iowa. Friends may call at the Schroeder-Reimers Memorial Chapel on Friday, from 9:00 AM until the time of the service. The family will be present from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to his family.
