Ramsey, died at the Eleanor Moore Hospital on Saturday noon after a short illness form pneumonia. Ten days prior, his brother, M.K. Ramsey, died of this dread disease after a short illness. During his sickness his brother, Kyle, was a faithful attendant at his bedside and contracted the same disease. Judge Ramsey was laid to rest on Thursday April 28. On Sunday evening, May 1, Mrs. M.K. Ramsey, the faithful wife of the judge, passed away of the same dread affliction. In the meantime Kyle was stricken down and on Saturday evening, April 30, was removed to the Eleanor Moore hospital. He rapidly grew worse and his death was anticipated several days before it finally took place. He rallied on Thursday of last week but Friday he grew worse and gradually sank until death ensued Saturday noon. Kyle Ramsey was born in Harrison county Ohio, July 5, 1835, being about sixty nine years of age at the time of his death. He was a son of George and Margaret (Kennedy) Ramsey. When a child his parents removed to Ralls county Missouri, and later removed to Morgan County, Illinois. In November 1854 they came to Iowa and since then the Ramsey's have resided here. On December 20, 1860 he was united in marriage to Mary Ellen McCormick in Morgan County, Illinois. He served in the civil war in Company H of 101st Illinois infantry. For several years past the deceased has resided on a farm in Peoples Township north of Woodward. Besides his wife there are left to mourn his death, two daughters, one of them being Mrs. Bert Wade of Peoples Township. Two boys and two girls preceded their father to the grave. Besides two brothers survive, John of Woodward and George of this city. The deceased was well known to the older settlers of Boone County in particular. He was a man of integrity and honesty and frank and candid to all. Of a family raised in the democratic faith he was all his life a consistent member of that party. His friends were many and they deeply regret the suddenness with which he was taken away. The funeral was held Monday from his late residence in Peoples Township and the remains laid to rest in the Peoples cemetery.Boone County Democrat May 13 1904
